2021 JMA Entertainer of the Year

International Recording Artist Sourmash is an accomplished group of seasoned musicians hailing from Pennsylvania. Initially assembled to pay tribute to the guitar-driven songs of southern rock; the band has evolved into a true, original rock and roll act. Sourmash has become a very popular act in the northeastern US over the last few years with a continually growing fan base. Comprised of avid motorcyclists that ride to many of their shows; Sourmash is a favorite for festivals and regional motorcycle rallies and is touted as The Baddest Biker Band on the Planet. Formed in 2010, the band has been a consistent headliner for motorcycle rallies, festivals, and clubs. In addition, Sourmash has opened for national acts, such as Great White, Saliva, Moonshine Bandits, Blackberry Smoke and David Allan Coe. National act, Luke Combs opened for Sourmash in December 2016.

On the heels of First Shot (the debut CD of Sourmash) in April 2015; the single, You Are Everything was featured in the film, A Fancy Piece of Homicide, while the single, Flesh and Bone was featured on the CBS TV show, Scorpion in April, 2017. Both have received airplay on SiriusXM Radio. First Shot is available for sale on Amazon, iTunes, CD Baby, and Goggle Play as well as the Sourmash website. CD sales of First Shot have reached respectable levels, both nationally and internationally. Songs from Sourmash are available nationally in 99% of jukeboxes across the country (AMI and Touch Tunes). This award-winning band was voted People’s Choice Winner in the inaugural Pittsburgh City Paper’s Face The Music battle; was listed as Touch Tunes’ 2015 Breakout Band; was Clayton USA’s Pick of the Week in 2012; has been nominated in many categories of the Pittsburgh Music Awards with SOURMASH (Best Rock Band) Tim Henry (Best Vocalist and Best Guitarist), Dave Stanoszek (Best Bassist) and Country Girl (Song of the Year) all winning; and has been featured several times in the Thunder Roads motorcycle magazine. In 2021, SOURMASH received 5 Josie Music Awards nominations including: Rock Group of the Year, Rock Song of the Year (Wild Willie), Rock Vocalist of the Year, and 2 for Musician of the Year (Farine and Henry).

The powerful Sourmash performances showcase the band’s depth as performers and in musical ability. From the time the entire band rides their motorcycles to the stage, the swagger and talent are apparent. Tim Henry is a monster on stage. His vocals are powerful, gritty and yet smooth when needed. Tim commands the stage with a strong, comfortable energy and a charisma that is both captivating and inviting to the audience. Matt Knapp and Dave Stanoszek make up the thunderous rhythm section of the band. They are cool, calm and controlled on stage. Nick Farine and Tim Henry are players’ players on guitar. They are masters of their craft and consistently deliver dazzling dual-guitar licks at every performance. The highlight of the show however, is the participation of the crowd. Whether the audience is dancing, singing along or shouting “Hell Yeah!” – it is that energy that keeps Sourmash alive.
